On Saturday, October 7th, the community is invited to see all that is new at the Fond du Lac Family YMCA. Facility improvements began earlier this summer, with updates to the building that include an expanded studio suite featuring a new group cycling studio and small group training studio, new virtual fitness options available in two new studios, and a newly renovated Healthy Living Center, offering a specialized classroom meeting space for programs such as LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA.
Community members are invited to stop in at the Y, located at 90 W. Second Street, to receive a building tour, scheduled on the hour from 8 am – 1 pm. Members and community participants can take part in the Fall Fitness Fest, a group fitness event taking place during the open house, offering a sample of the wide variety of land fitness, small group training, and virtual fitness classes the Y has to offer. The schedule of classes available during the open house is located on the Y’s website at fdlymca.org, or can be picked up at the Y. Registration is not required for the classes and space is available on a first come basis. Free Child Watch will be available from 6:45 am – 1:45 pm. Refreshments will be available for class participants.
Stop in and check out the Y’s new Healthy Living Center and learn all about the healthy living programs and upcoming seminars the Y will be offering to members and community participants. Visit the program booths in the family gym from 9 am – 2 pm to learn more about aquatics, youth sports, gymnastics, preschool programs, child care and child watch. Bring your kids to play in the bounce house while you learn about Fall II program opportunities.
The gyms will feature adult pick-up ball, open Pickleball times, and a Pickleball clinic scheduled at 10 am. FreshFit Meals will be onsite offering free samples of their healthy meals, available for purchase weekly at the Y. Register for prize drawings while attending the open house.
